What is Higher Hit Factor?
‘Hit Factor’ is a method of scoring used in many shooting sports. It is measured by the amount of impact (points scored) divided by the time it took to score them. The higher the hit factor, the better you did on that stage. As a Christian, I believe that this earthly life is like a shooting stage…we have a limited amount of time, in which to have an impact. And just as in shooting sports, the Higher the Hit Factor, the better.
While many shooting sports are based on individual effort, the individuals typically shoot as part of a team or squad, who’s members help the stage run more smoothly, offer advice, share the wins and soften the losses (if you shoot, you understand the ‘love’ of good squad mates). These are the same qualities we need in our earthly stage squad mates, as well. We are not meant to do this alone.
I also know that when people share a passion, that the like, know, and trust factors built there can be used as a bridge to otherwise unrelated activities, thoughts and ideas. Whether this is another hobby, a new restaurant, or giving one’s life over to Jesus, the leap of faith is made smaller when taken with a trusted friend.
With these things in mind, combined with some whisperings from the Holy Spirit, I created Higher Hit Factor. I can’t say for sure exactly where this will go (the easiest way to make God laugh is to tell him your plans), but for now, I see this as what I hope becomes a growing church, coming together in His name, wherever our paths should cross. I’ve put an events calendar here, and also created a Facebook page.
If you see that I’m coming to your area, and you’d like to learn more, share some prayer time, or just say ‘hi’…I’d love to meet you.
